Client: Northern Light Productions

Project: Tryon Palace

At the North Carolina History Center at Tryon Palace in New Bern NC, Redmon was responsible for fully populating a brand-new multi-faceted history museum and interactive experience environment, incorporating over thirty unique interactive experiences (many of which are multi-player and have significant hands-on components).  Stand-out experiences developed by Redmon include the History Navigator tours which use a portable interactive device (or the visitor’s smart phone) to put a personal navigator, guide and reference librarian at each visitor’s fingertips, offering video, audio and images that provide each person access to a rich archive filled with new discoveries about NC history, landscapes and buildings.

At the Pepsi Family Center, a virtual time machine transports you to a river village in North Carolina’s Central Coastal Region in the year 1835 where hands-on activities developed by Redmon invite visitors to step back in time and sail a ship, distill turpentine and produce naval stores, piece an electronic quilt, and help the shopkeeper find merchandise for customers in the dry goods store.

Redmon also deployed multiple custom show-control systems, a daily-events digital signage package, and a green-screen custom postcard interactive where visitors can email home virtual postcard images of Tryon Palace history after adding their faces to the design.
