NASA's Langley Research Center “Centennial” mobile exhibit travels across the United States to commemorate the centennial of the facility and inspire audiences about its past 100 years of accomplishments. Partnered with Capitol Exhibits, Redmon integrated audio and visual components throughout the exhibit space that tell the story of NASA Langley’s key role in developing space technologies.
Redmon installed and programmed audio and video content to trigger a series of lighting schemes throughout the exhibit. The customized system gracefully switches colored lights in sync with video content to reveal 3D graphics on the walls surrounding the exhibit. As the audio/visual program plays, artifacts significant to the history of space exploration are individually illuminated for the visitor. The system is also set up for exhibit staff to trigger the start of the programs at the appropriate time.
