Riding the wave of success created by the release of the "Beer Hunter" CD-ROM, Discovery Channel decided to expand its horizons to include other beer-brewing countries. Michael Jackson, beer and brewing expert, was recruited once again to provide commentary, and Redmon Group was asked to solicit and assemble statistical data and develop the CD-ROM.
"World Beer Hunter" profiles more than 400 pubs and breweries worldwide. It functions as a reference tool as well as an introduction to the art and artistry of beer brewing, and is supported by some six hours of audio and video clips, all seasoned with Jackson's refreshing wit. The program allows users to search the world for the best beers and to join Jackson on a hunt for over 300 world-class brews. The program looks at brewing traditions and the cultural heritage of beers from known and obscure breweries around the world. There are interactive maps of pubs and breweries, a notepad to jot down notes and ratings, and an invitation to accompany Jackson on a pub-crawl!
