The Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) course is a comprehensive distance learning course for policy makers, regulators, financial supervisory authorities, judges, law enforcement officials, financial intelligence unit staff, and representatives from financial institutions throughout the world. The majority of the course is found in eight instructional modules designed to take a learner anywhere from one to four hours each to complete. It also contains introductory, overview, pre-test, and post-test modules. The course is designed for delivery in the WebCT learning management system and on CD-ROM.
Redmon designed a standard, easy-to-use interface common to all modules in the AML/CFT course. To further maintain consistency and to manage the complexity of developing a large course, Redmon also created templates, or standard screen types, onto which all of the content was mapped. These templates allowed for a high-level of interactivity and graphical interest without sacrificing usability. Features of the program include multiple choice, true/false, and drag and drop knowledge checks, clickable case studies and examples, video clips, e-discussion questions, an online note-taking function, the ability to download printable versions of the course as well as a course glossary and other relevant documents, links to relevant Web sites, and a detailed navigable index specific to the course content. The program was built using Macromedia Flash.
