In July 2000, the owners of the successful DC Coast restaurant opened a Pan-Asian restaurant at the corner of Tenth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C. and gave it the name, Ten Penh. Ten Penh mixes modern and traditional styles of Asian cuisine, and its unique interior reflects this mix with a sleek, sophisticated design adorned with antiques from the region. Redmon was asked to produce a Web site that would capture the ambience of this rich tapestry.
When the site is launched, visitors are rewarded with a short animation that features symbols, shapes, and colors usually associated with Asian culture. Ten Penh's logo is prominently displayed throughout the site. There are small photographs of the dining area and bar which, when clicked, reveal larger images within secondary windows. With a minimum of clicks, visitors can read about the restaurant's owners and their mission, access the menu and wine list, retrieve some of Chef Tunks' Asian-influenced recipes to try at home, and see the latest news about the restaurant. The site includes an easy navigation system that guides visitors to the information they need.
