This exhibit tours major Museums & Science Centers around the country and gives audiences an opportunity to experience our past explorations and future destiny in space. SPACE uses immersive scenic elements, the most advanced interactive exhibits and state-of-the-art projection and audio technology to bring this epic story to life.
Redmon created several interactives for SPACE including: World of Probes, World of Satellites, and Collecting Light. World of Probes is a DVD-based presentation. A Redmon-produced video segment for Probes features a mathematically-accurate modeling of the path of the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 long-range space probes and highlights their journey past the planets of the solar system.
World of Satellites is notable because of the innovative use of the GestureTech gesture-based interface. Visitors can select segments to view by merely pointing at the large projection screen and miming a pushbutton motion.
Collecting Light is designed to help visitors understand how astronomers produce images using the types of light found in the electromagnetic spectrum. This interactive exhibit is a PC-based presentation with dual outputs, an LCD touch screen and a large-format Plasma monitor. Visitors interact with the smaller LCD display, and explorations and presentation segments written and produced by Redmon are presented on the large plasma monitor mounted for group viewing.
