Project: On the Water Exhibit at Smithsonian: Stories form Maritime America

For the past 10 years, the Smithsonian National Museum of American History has been working on expanding their galleries of transportation to include a new exhibition featuring their large collection of artifacts related to waterborne transportation. The result is On the Water: Stories from Maritime America, an exhibit that includes two Redmon-produced interactives. “Web of Connections (1500’s to 1800’s)” and “Modern Maritime Connections” feature fully-rendered 3D graphics incorporating interactive 3D environments, maps, and rotating globes that present statistical and historical information in an engaging visual fashion. Redmon generated thousands of frames of 3D animation, all of which were brought together to create a high-quality interactive video featuring smooth transitions between segments.
