Client: Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg

Project: Rupp House History Center, Gettysburg PA

The Rupp House offers visitors a glimpse of what life was like for civilians during the Civil War through interactive displays and hands-on exhibits.  Redmon developed a number of experiences for this museum, including “What Would You Pack” where the visitor takes on the role of Caroline Rupp to choose which items to take (or leave and never see again) as she flees before the battle of Gettysburg converges on her home. In addition to A/V presentations and a donor recognition display, another Redmon-developed experience allows visitors to “Create Your Own Monument,” assembling the image of a war memorial in the style of those on the battlefield. The resulting design can be printed on-site or emailed home.

Produced in 2004.
