The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History includes an exhibit of the American Presidency. Redmon developed three interactive exhibit stations where the public can step into the shoes of the President of the United States, see selected pages from various Web sites, and participate in viewer opinion polls.
Visitors to the museum select from three well-known speeches--the inauguration addresses of Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan's call to President Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. The setting for the occasion appears on the wall behind the visitor, who then delivers the speech at a podium by reading from a scrolling prompter. The second exhibit displays selected pages from the Web sites of The White House, the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee. The third exhibit polls museum visitors for their opinions on a variety of topics. Visitor input is tallied with previously solicited opinions and then displayed on one of two large plasma screens.
