Project: Pamplin Historical Park

The Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier near Petersburg, VA is a 424-acre historical campus featuring museums, period homes, a Civil War battlefield, a slave life exhibit, educational programs, and special events. Partnered with Capitol Exhibits Redmon provided two targeted experiences for Pamplin, a Digital Docent for their Chapel exhibit, and an updatable interactive featuring period manuscripts, photographs, and printed envelopes. The Chapel Digital Docent allows visitors to hear stories from a virtual chaplain whose presentation starts on visitor entry into the space, and which allows the visitor to choose a story by button press. The Print materials interactive features period photos, stationery, and letters that can be browsed and viewed in detail by visitors. In addition, the interactive is assembled in such a way as to allow Pamplin staff to easily add new categories and content as desired.
