Client: Smithsonian Institution

Project: National Museum of the American Indian - Donor Kiosk

The National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) Honor Wall program allows people to inscribe a name "... for posterity in a truly special place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. – the Honor Wall".  Given that there are approximately 40,000 inscriptions distributed across 68 4’x2’ aluminum panels mounted around the museum’s Potomac Atrium, the museum contracted Redmon to implement a “locator system” that would allow museum visitors to locate a single inscription on the Honor Wall.  The resulting interactive provides a flexible and effective search on inscription and/or the name of the person as well as biographical information on honorees.
