The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center is a state-of-the-art museum that combines solemn spirituality with high-tech entertainment. Redmon, subcontractor to Design and Production, was commissioned by Edwin Schlossberg Incorporated to develop the software for the Center's interactive exhibits and management utilities.
The museum is designed to engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds in an active exploration of their faith and culture, utilizing a myriad of hands-on technologies. One enables visitors to create and record testimonials of faith, hope for the future, and relationship to the community. Other galleries invite visitors to read a searchable version of the Holy Scriptures, browse a database of saints (since there are more than 1500 saints and beatified individuals), and explore ethical dilemmas. The highlight of the exhibit is the array of interactive creation stations in the Gallery of Imagination. Using computer-powered devices, visitors can design a full-size electronic stained-glass window, create a collage of religious symbols, or play popular hymns on simulated church bells.
