The Ford Motor Company wanted a new Web site developed for its President's Circle which would give its Circle members a more innovative and direct process of consultation with other members. The site would give members a unique inside look at what Ford is doing, help ensure that Ford and the dealers are aligned and focused, and create a global online community among President's Circle members that allows them to communicate easily with and among each other. Redmon Group developed the technical infrastructure of the site.
A complex and sophisticated back-end was developed for the site. A set of administration screens allows site managers to add, modify, and delete content and graphics, publish an events calendar and announcements, archive Web casts, and moderate forums in real time. The site includes a custom designed email program, a chat area, and a bulletin board. Members can create profiles for publication, maintain address books, store bookmarked links, and retrieve email from external accounts.
