Dr. Oliver Alabaster, a clinical professor of medicine, wanted to use the Web to reach the millions of people around the world who suffer from diet-related diseases. He consulted Redmon to help him design and develop his unique visual approach to diet management called "The Easy DietFit System," which helps users understand and improve their diet choices by simulating real-life eating situations.
DietFit incorporates interactive, visual applications to help users analyze and modify their dietary habits, and to train themselves to make intuitive food choices that match their diet goals. Using photo-realistic images of actual foods, the "MealBuilder" program allows users to create meals on-screen, examine their nutrient content, and adjust portion sizes as necessary. Other applications in the site analyze instinctive food choices, test users' visual ability to judge the nutrient content of meals, and track users' progress in matching their food choices to their dietary goals.
