The AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) Air Safety Foundation sought out Redmon to be the designer/developer of a new series of interactive Web-based minicourses for pilots. Each minicourse (a 15 to 30 minute experience) in the series recreates via video an actual general aviation accident and then examines the lessons that can be learned from it.
Redmon designed the user interface of the first minicourse, VFR Into IMC, (Visual Flight Rules into Instrument Meteorological Conditions) with a case file theme that will be the template for all courses in the series.
For the content of each course, the Air Safety Foundation provides Redmon with a script, photos, actual recordings of telephone and radio communications from the day of the accident, and video clips created in Microsoft Flight Simulator X that recreate portions of the scenario. Redmon is responsible for storyboarding, creation of additional graphics and animations, recording of additional audio, video editing, Flash development, and integration with the Air Safety Foundation back-end and database.
