Dr. Howard Gardner is the author of eighteen books and hundreds of articles and is a world-renowned authority on multiple intelligences--the notion that there exists but a single human intelligence that can be assessed by standard psychometric instruments. ASCD wanted an interactive staff development tool that would allow users to explore the theory of multiple intelligences and then apply the theory to their own curriculum.
The program explains and gives examples of the eight intelligences identified by Dr. Gardner and helps users understand each intelligence by identifying famous individuals who excel in each intelligence, career and life choices that require development of each particular intelligence, and classroom situations that relate to each intelligence area. Users can engage in simulations, puzzles, questions, and other activities that help them explore their own intelligence profile.
