America Online asked Redmon Group to design, develop, and host a training management system to deliver course materials to their broadband affiliates, sales associates, and business partners. AOL requested that the system be built so they could maintain it without contracting out their training needs.
The training management system was designed and built around the "AOL for Broadband" training course. The basic training engine features a custom-designed user interface, a login feature to track user information and demographics, a structured menu system with simple navigation design, content screens for instructional material (text, graphics, video), and a quiz session. Choosing from five different layout templates, AOL's instructional designers can build future courses with new content. An administration component allows AOL designated staff to grant or deny access permissions to users, view user details and quiz scores, and produce summary reports.
